: every now and then I make some art - beth sometimes.

: Finally, what could any
person do to any average
home to make it a better
place to live?
Throw away some of the
furniture, paint everything
white, clean the windows
and see if you can make them
wider. It's about luminosity.

: The earth's resources are finite; that's a fact, not rhetoric.

: There's a very big difference between not having learned to do something and being incapable. There's a point where most people can't drive cars, but they don't think that they're incapable of it. I can't play the piano but I'm not incapable of it; I just haven't done it.

: Creativity is the process of having original ideas that have value. It is a process; it's not random.

: In a culture that so highly champions literacy and numeracy it is a neglected truth that we leave a vast majority of our society disempowered by chronic unfamiliarity with their own somatic domain.

: This deeply grounded corporeal perspective presents a refuge from a mind that while inarguably useful, tends to devour itself as an empty stomach when lacking a problem-solving task.

: I'm talking about an enlightened approach to movement practises and their function within our societies.

: The role of a creative leader is not to have all the ideas; it's to create a culture where everyone can have ideas and feel that they're valued. So it's much more about creating climates.

There is pseudo hope in the form of interactive interfaces (as opposed to the last 60yrs of one way TV & print) but this disregards tactile feedback and it's importance in our experience. And with the level of OCD in this country for risk elimination and public liability, more and more experiences at festivals, events even play grounds, are this kind of "safe" pseudo interaction. Of course we want the best, safest world for our kids but to quote Marlin from the movie Nemo- "I promised I'd never let anything happen to him" (referring to Nemo) to which Dory responds- “that's a weird thing to promise because then nothing could ever happen.” We've been led to a point of paranoia where faux experience is chosen over genuine experiences with managed risks.

: Be wary of false
dichotomies. The human cultural
jungle should be as varied and plural
as the Amazonian rainforest. We are
all richer for biodiversity. We may
decide that a puma is worth more to
us than a caterpillar, but surely we
can agree that the habitat is all the
better for being able to sustain each.
Monocultures are uninhabitably dull
and end as deserts.- The Fry Chronicals

: the maps they gave us are out of date, by years.

: And, finally, I began to notice the difference between pain and discomfort.

: “Ideas cause ideas and help evolve new ideas. They interact with each other and with other mental forces in the same brain, in neighbouring brains, and thanks to global communication, in far distant, foreign brains.” ~ Roger Sperry
